Recently went with my brother William to go regularly swimming at lake Liki just like we planned . We knew that there was mt. Vesuvius near the lake. When I looked at the mountain I smelled something delicious so we climbed to the top of the mountain and before I new it my family was their waiting for us to eat some cooked chicken. Right when they gave it to me I devoured it all the way to the bone, once we finished eating we went back to Pompeii and rest.

There was something odd about today. The sky was as dark as the night sky ,and something smelled awfully bad I thought it was the dirty floor but it wasn’t as revolving as this scent. So I went outside to see what was causing this smoky smell and right when I came outside the ground was going bonkers! The next thing I see is the mountain Vesuvius in smoke! So right away I ran to my family to tell them about the eruption. I thought they were going to think it out but I think they knew that we can still escape so we packed up really fast the food, uncontaminated water, and clothes. Right before we left my brother got his cudgel and I got my spear that we used for hunting, but now we’ll use it in case of predators and road bandits.

We have been walking for a whole day now and possibly 5 miles away from Pompeii and still going. We did run into a group of hyenas but they fled from our weapons so we stopped walking and started eating. The food that we had was meat, fish, rice cakes, and spaghetti , but we couldn’t have just eaten it we only could have eaten a little each day so that we don’t have to worry about starving. But then I noticed far out in the distance like about 2 miles away. A group of people started running I didn’t know why but then I saw a humungous pyroclastic flow just rushing all the way to them but it faster than them and just covered them and instantly killed them. Now I know why they were running but what I don’t get is how did it kill them in a heartbeat of a second ? But that is one thing I won’t try out.
March 30,79 Pompeii is covered in tons of ash due to an ash cloud that formed over Pompeii. So now we decided to move to Rome which is about 7 miles away from us ,but since we’re going through a forest we can only travel at daytime because we are vulnerable the nighttime since there’s no sun light and we can’t see any thing. This will be hard and dangerous but going back now is not an option…

Before seeing Rome road bandits attacked us. I thought they would flee but we had to protect our family so I jabbed 2 bandits 4 times and that ended their lives and William killed 6 of them in one whack . That’s because the cudgel he has is long and has big ,sharp, and steel made end which made it very deadly for fighting and hunting big animals.

WHEW!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!! We made it to Rome!!!! We have survived the eruption of mt Vesuvius survived the rain forest and defeated 8 bandits to protect or family and made it here ALIVE!!!!!!

Since 20 days we came here to stay. Now we have a new home and a new job field for plantations and hunting. Me and my brother William stand side by side together with his cudgel and my spear scouting for animals . My mother works at the plantation area to plant and grow seeds, and my dad helps out in taking out all the bad stuff out of the fruits to make sure we eat the best parts of fruits. We have a better life and if it wasn’t for me I wouldn’t have been able to warn my family about the eruption. Now it’s time to let go of one life and start another one.
